Dhaka Subway Project

I worked as a Project Architect for over two and half years on Dhaka Metro Subway Project. This was one of the challenging projects as the subway was built in the world's most dense city - Dhaka. I was mostly involved in the Preconstruction stage.

I was involved in the land acquisition Survey to constructibility review, from station planning, Aesthetic design, and Federated model creation. This Project was a complete learning environment for me as we worked on international standards NFPA 130 and Article 30. We would use a Common Data environment like Bentley ProjectWise for the Design check to Model coordination check.

DESIGN INTEGRATION

VDC Coordination

I was responsible for managing a team of 8 assistant architects (BIM modelers). I was in charge of station planning, incorporating the systems requirements within the design, and having to travel internationally for client meetings. VDC Coordination was a major part of my day-to-day job role.

SUBWAY AESTHETIC DESIGN & RENDERINGS

The interior and exterior aesthetics design was developed in Sketchup and rendered in Lumion. I was the Architect solely responsible for these design concepts and Renderings. These concepts were approved by our client Nippon Koei and by 2026 the Dhaka metro line 1 will be built based on these aesthetic designs and fully operational.

Software used: Autodesk Revit, Sketchup, Lumion, Adobe Photoshop.
